Frequently Asked
Questions
What is
Cognitive Hypnotherapy?
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is an approach and philosophy with the
client at its centre. No two clients have the same therapy
programme. Each session is designed to address the particular
needs and resources of the client.
What is Hypnosis and trance?
Trance is the state of body and mind in which the therapy takes
place. It is a state of focused attention which we all
experience in the course of a normal day whilst watching
television for example, or driving a car. However, during
hypnosis you are guided into trance for a specific, therapeutic
purpose.
Is it safe?
Completely. Nobody gets "stuck" in hypnosis and millions of
people have been treated successfully with hypnotherapy.
Can I be hypnotised?
You've been hypnotised many times already. For example, when you
daydream and lose track of time you are in a state of
self-hypnosis, and when you find yourself lost in a movie, your
state is one of focused attention, ie. hypnosis. If you want to
be hypnotised you will be. No one is hypnotised against their
will.
